Brief Description of Duties to Be Performed: The USET Health Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing ongoing IT support and guidance to USET Tribal Health Program Support (THPS) to maximize THPS program effectiveness, especially in maintaining the USET
Tribal Epidemiology Center Population Health Data Portal and other HIT systems for monitoring and communicating community health status.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Public Health Informatics, Public Health, Epidemiology or Biostatistics preferred. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation or related occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Must have experience and understanding of the analysis and management of large datasets (preferable public health datasets) using SAS, SPSS, STATA, or other data analysis software. Experience using Extensible Markup Language (XML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) programming and Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) preferred. Ability to travel and work irregular hours as necessary.
