Brief Description of Duties to Be Performed: The Director-Natural Resource Development Office within United South and Eastern Tribes, Inc. is responsible for the development, administration, and implementation of programs, functions, services, and activities in areas related to the environment, cultural and natural resources, agriculture, rural development, energy and emergency preparedness. The Director will provide guidance to the USET Executive Director, Tribal Leaders, and USET Committees by serving as the primary resource for information regarding the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Interior (DOI), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and related agencies. Serves as liaison between USET Tribes and various agencies and organizations in order to ensure that the USET Tribes are represented and their interests are protected.
Minimum Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Public Policy/Research, or closely related field obtained from an accredited college or university which has equipped the incumbent with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Masters Degree in a related field preferred, but not required. Minimum of five (5) years experience working with tribal governmental or environmental programs, administration, tribal planning, and/or analysis. Cultural sensitivity/ability to work within the customs and traditions of various tribal groups. Ability to travel and work irregular hours as necessary.
