Federal Courthouse Near Cherokee, NC will remain open after thoughts it may close

A federal courthouse that handles cases from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians
won't be closing.
The courthouse in Bryson, North Carolina, was initially put on a closure
list. But it was saved because it's the only place that handles Indian Country
criminal cases, Chief Judge David Sentelle of the D.C. Circuit
Court of Appeals said.
Sentelle, however, said six other facilities in the Southern states will
be closing in the next few years.
