Travel Home Day

Fleming Training Center is the facility where the State of Tennessee trains its Water and Wastewater Operators. For more information on this center, follow the link http://www.tn.gov/environment/fleming/.  This facility has classrooms, an auditorium, both Water and Wastewater labs for instruction, and a maintenance shop with backflow prevention training tables.  USET is hoping to utilize this facility for future operator training.  They offer one and two weeklong training classes preparing the operator for ABC examination.

We will be visiting Fleming on Thursday for morning training and showcasing the options for operator training.  The afternoon will be spent on tours of the local Water, Wastewater, and Solid Waste facilities.

Once again we will be using the bar code scanners for signing in/out of training.  We are striving to make this easier for everyone.  This year we are applying for CEU’s for attending the entire conference.  I believe we will be offering 12 CEU’s for this event.  You will be required to attend the entire event to receive these CEU’s.  No partial hours will be given.   We are doing our best to end our days at 4 pm to allow you to enjoy Nashville. Understanding this, participants will be expected to be on time to each session and not leave early, as the CEU’s will NOT be given for partial involvement in the training meetings.

Travel scholarships funding is available this year, just like last.  Both USET and IHS have funding available, including air travel, per diem, and hotel stay.  Car rentals will not be reimbursed since shuttle service to and from the airport is complimentary.  Please let us know ASAP if you are needing this travel assistance.  Please contact me if you have concerns about the reimbursement process.

A registration fee of $100 per person for this event will be collected and is not reimbursable. We are doing our best to include a reception dinner as part of this registration fee.  Stay tuned for more information on this.

Attached to this email is the 2013 Tribal Utility Summit Flyer with the link to the registration site and further information.

We are working hard to bring you the best training available.  Planning groups are putting together the agenda.  If you have any training interests, please contact me and we will do our best to find training.

We look forward to seeing you in April!
