Funds must be dispersed by September 15, 2009!
Funding and technical assistance remain available to a limited number of Tribes for the development of plant and animal ERPs. The creation of comprehensive plans for plants, livestock, and pets that can be integrated and exercised with the Tribe’s overall emergency management plan is strongly encouraged. Funds may be used:
- To create inventories of significant plants and animals,
- For assistance in developing the formal ERP document and plan,
- For invasive species / noxious weed management, and/or
- For technical equipment such as GPS units, laptop computers, animal crates, or other items needed to develop or implement these plans.
Tribes that have received prior funds for ERPs through USET or directly from APHIS may be eligible for an additional grant used to expand the scope of the original plan to an additional area.
