Join the Urban Indian Health Institute (UIHI) for the second in a series of virtual town halls on COVID-19, focused on treatments and clinical trials. The expert panel includes a frontline COVID-19 research nurse, doctor, and community member from the Lummi Nation who will share important resources and engage in a conversation that empowers Native people to make informed decisions on COVID-19 treatments and clinical trials. As an independent not-for-profit designated by the FCC, USAC administers the Universal Service Fund (USF) programs and other programs as directed by the FCC including this round of the COVID-19 Telehealth Program.

On April 15, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that the application window for the Round 2 of the COVID-19 Telehealth Program will open on April 29 and close on May 6. As an independent not-for-profit designated by the FCC, USAC administers the Universal Service Fund (USF) programs and other programs as directed by the FCC including this round of the COVID-19 Telehealth Program.
This training is titled, COVID-19 Telehealth Program Training for Prospective Tribal Applicants."
The FCC will host a public webinar to provide information on the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB)), a $3.2 billion program to help Americans afford broadband Internet service during the pandemic. The EBB provides a discount of up to $50 per month ($75 on Tribal lands) off a qualifying households’ internet bill. For eligible households there is the potential for a discount of up to $100 towards the purchase of a tablet, laptop or desktop computer from a participating provider so long as the eligible purchaser contributes more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

During the event, the FCC will provide an overview of the outreach tool kit materials that have been developed for partners and the public to use to create awareness about the temporary program.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) will host a joint webinar for tribal leaders and tribal economic enterprises on the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF). SBA will cover program details, including how to apply for funding, and will answer questions during the webinar.
The Restaurant Revitalization Fund includes $28.6 billion in available funding, including a $5 billion set-aside for businesses with revenue of no more than $500,000 in 2019. This program provides restaurants with funding equal to the restaurant’s pandemic-related revenue loss. The funding is available up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Authorized uses include payroll, mortgage, rent, utilities, supplies, paid leave, and operational expenses. Socially and economically disadvantaged business concerns, including tribal business concerns, will be prioritized for funding during the first 21 days that the application portal is open. After 21 days, SBA will accept and process applications from all eligible applicants until funds are exhausted.
