This initiative educates campus health professionals about COVID-19 vaccination best practices through webinars, workshops, publications, videos, and a curated resource library.

Tribal communities and Tribal citizens living with HIV may have concerns and questions about COVID-19, including the risk of serious illness and vaccine safety. Information on HIV prevention and treatment during the pandemic and how HIV patients could access care during the COVID-19 pandemic will be shared.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is hosting a tribal webinar on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. EDT on the newly established COVID-19 Request for Public Assistance deadlines. During the webinar, Tribal Nations can request additional guidance and information from FEMA. Tribal Nations’ requests for assistance must be submitted by July 1, 2022.

The public is invited to the first meeting of the Committee on Community Wastewater-based Infectious Disease Surveillance. This virtual meeting will bring together the committee, the study sponsors, and experts to begin discussing how this study will proceed in assessing the potential value of community-level wastewater-based infectious disease surveillance. Wastewater surveillance was used in many communities in the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic to understand virus trends and inform public health decisions, and the committee will explore the value of this method for understanding and preventing the spread of other infectious diseases in the U.S. beyond COVID-19.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, recommendations and guidance from CDC have changed based on new data from a variety of qualitative and quantitative sources. During the webinar, CDC experts will discuss the science to keep people safe during public health emergencies, including COVID-19. You’ll hear more about how CDC evaluates data to give updated recommendations, the sources of the data, and how health equity fits into the framework of an emergency response.
