SUMMARY:2026 SAFSF Forum
DESCRIPTION:The SAFSF Forum is a unique conference for the full spectrum of funders—including philanthropy\, investors\, community finance\, and intermediaries—to foster collaboration among peers\, field leaders\, and practitioners across the country around a shared mission for equitable and sustainable food and agriculture. The conference focuses on different approaches to moving impact capital to transform food systems. While funder learning is a central goal\, nonprofit movement leaders and food system partners are integral to the event’s success\, bringing on-the-ground wisdom and solutions. As we face a moment of profound transformation across non-profit\, philanthropy\, and food systems\, the SAFSF Forum is a gathering place for sense-making\, solutions\, and solidarity.  \n\n\n\nThe 2026 SAFSF Forum will take place in Savannah\, Georgia—a place where Afro-Indigenous stewardship\, Gullah Geechee traditions\, and Southern agrarian and culinary innovation intersect with today’s climate crisis\, land loss\, and rural economic disinvestment. The U.S. South is a fulcrum of American food and agriculture: a production powerhouse; a hub for farmworker and H-2A dynamics that shape national food supply; a climate frontline facing extreme heat\, hurricanes\, and flooding; and a logistics hub where Gulf and Atlantic ports—Savannah among them—move goods globally. Equity\, divestment\, and ownership struggles are also acutely felt here\, from Black land stewardship and heirs’ property challenges to corporate land capture in rural communities forcing displacement of local food systems. Because issues of land justice\, climate change\, rural economic development\, and systems of racism and exclusion converge so intensely in the South\, investing in community-led solutions in food and agriculture in the region can offer solutions to the country and the world. Throughout the Forum\, we will trace the throughline of Black and Indigenous Agrarianism\, uplifting lineages of liberatory organizing\, cooperative economics\, and rural self-determination that lay the foundation for a climate-resilient\, healthy\, and equitable food future beyond corporate control.

SUMMARY:Sovereignty in Numbers: The 2026 Center for Indian Country Development Data Summit
DESCRIPTION:Recent years have brought economic data innovations across Indian Country and new models for governing data in ways that honor tribal data sovereignty. Digital advancements have made it easier to collect and analyze data\, and artificial intelligence (AI) has introduced new risks and possibilities. Tools such as tribal censuses\, economic impact reports\, and the Survey of Native Nations are equipping tribes with new forms of data as they navigate economic realities. During a time of rapid change\, how are tribes leveraging emerging data opportunities in ways that safeguard tribal citizens and values? \n\n\n\nThe Center for Indian Country Development’s (CICD’s) 2026 data summit will feature conversations with Indian Country thought leaders on what it means to marshal data for economic self-determination. Tribal leaders will share ways they’re working with economic data to design services for tribal citizens\, attract investment in their communities\, and steward their resources for future generations. Speakers will also explore ways tribes are shaping emerging data applications on their own terms.

SUMMARY:2026 USET Community Resilience Roundtables
DESCRIPTION:Join the USET’s Office of Environmental Resource Management (OERM) Tribal Community Resilience Program for a series of virtual roundtable discussions on Tribal Nations’ resilience strategies\, successes\, and challenges. Each roundtable will begin with a short presentation on an environmental or community project taking place in the USET region followed by questions and open discussion for attendees to learn from one another and build community across the region. The topic of each roundtable will be announced the week before each session via social media and email. We encourage attendees to join even the sessions that may not be obviously related to their interests or duties since all facets of environmental resilience interact and discussions are enriched by diverse participants. \n\n\n\nThese roundtables are intended exclusively for Tribal citizens and staff of Tribal Nations and Tribal organizations\, especially in the USET region\, and are not open to non-Tribal partners. To promote a comfortable and safer environment for discussion\, the roundtables will not be recorded. For the same reason\, AI/note-taking bots are not permitted and will be removed from each session. \n\n\n\nWhen: The fourth Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Central/2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Eastern \n\n\n\nWho should attend: Tribal Nation staff\, leaders\, and citizens interested in environmental and community resilience regardless of typical work duties \n\n\n\nLearning objectives: Attendees will learn about new approaches to environmental and community resilience across Nations and sectors while building relationships and potential partnerships across the region. \n\n\n\nRegistration is open! \n\n\n\nQuestions? Please contact Steph Courtney\, USET Community Resilience Liaison\, at scourtney@usetinc.org with any questions or concerns.
