Department of Justice to Host Hybrid Annual Tribal Consultation on Violence Against Women

The 2005 Violence Against Women Act requires the Department of Justice, Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of the Interior to annually engage in formal tribal consultation on violence against women. The 2022 hybrid consultation will take place September 21 – 23, 2022, in Anchorage, Alaska, and in an online environment. The National Congress of American Indians, National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center, and the Alaska Native Women’s Resource Center will co-host a hybrid tribal caucus on September 20, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. AKT.
