Join the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a live virtual event on November 2, at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT. The event will focus on the United States Department of Transportation’s launch of a tribal traffic safety initiative to reduce traffic crashes, injuries, and deaths in tribal — including rural and frontier — communities.

Nationally, Native Americans experience higher death rates from traffic crashes than any other race or ethnic group. A crash data analysis by NHTSA indicates Native Americans are especially at risk for fatal car crashes in the Four Corners region, which is comprised of the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. NHTSA’s launch of the initiative is focused on the area where these states converge in the Four Corners, and beyond.
