U.S. Forest Service Hosts Tribal Forum on Forest Restoration Agreements
The U.S. Forest Service is hosting a tribal forum webinar on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. EST to share information on a proposed policy regarding restoration agreements. The proposed policy provides direction in the Forest Service Handbook (FSH) 1509.11, Chapter 80 – Restoration Agreements to include:
- Good Neighbor agreement implementation, including Tribal cooperative roles in carrying out authorized work;
- Stewardship agreement implementation;
- Section 638 Tribal Forest Protection Act agreement implementation; and
Complementary guidance to better align Grants and Agreement direction with FSH Chapters 60 and 80.
