virtual STAFF-led Farm Bill conversation

November 9, 2022 @ 2:00 pm CST

United States Senator Tina Smith is pleased to announce a virtual STAFF-led Farm Bill conversation on November 9, 2022. The purpose of this event is to gather feedback on crucial Farm Bill provisions impacting Native and Tribal agriculture.

The Farm Bill gives Congress the chance to reauthorize, modify, create or repeal federal agriculture programs. The Farm Bill is expected to have 12 titles, each representing a different subject matter area in food and farm policy. These titles are: Commodities, Conservation, Trade, Nutrition, Credit, Rural Development, Research, Forestry, Energy, Horticulture, Crop Insurance, and Miscellaneous. Since Native agricultural interests span across titles of the Farm Bill, we anticipate that this session will be wide-ranging.

Included below is a list of questions that will guide the discussion.

Please register here. You can join the discussion using the Zoom link below.

Please register by Monday, November 07 to help estimate how many attendees to expect. However, while preregistration is encouraged, it is not required to attend the listening session. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact Peter Engel at peter_engel@smith.senate.gov.
