DESCRIPTION:United National Indian Tribal Youth (UNITY) will hold its Midyear Leadership Conference\, February 24-27\, 2022\, at the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak. \nAs in the past\, the 2022 events will engage Native youth from across the country through workshops\, breakout sessions\, music\, and cultural sharing. SUMMARY:Infrastructure School: Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Guidebook Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:With the signing of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law in mid-November\, President Biden marked a new era of building a better America together. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is historic in its size – the largest ever investments in broadband\, rail and transit\, clean energy\, and water\, just to name a few – as well as the breadth of programs and sectors included in the law.  Implementing the largest investment in our nation’s infrastructure in generations will require deep partnership alongside Members of Congress\, Governors\, Mayors\, Tribal leaders\, local officials\, and community members. \nLast month\, the White House released a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law guidebook to provide information so you know what to apply for\, who to contact\, and how to get ready to rebuild. This guidebook is a roadmap to the funding available under the law\, as well as an explanatory document that shows direct federal spending at the program level. They will continue to update this resource online at Build.gov.  Their goal is for you—communities all across America—to take full advantage of the opportunity this new funding presents. \nTo help partners better understand the programs within the guidebook\, they are launching Infrastructure School\, a series of twelve webinars over the coming weeks that will provide an in-depth look into the programs contained within each of the twelve major chapters in the guidebook. \nThe Biden-Harris Administration remains committed to building a better America– creating good middle-class jobs\, supporting disadvantaged and underserved communities\, advancing climate resilience and sustainability\, and investing in American manufacturers. DESCRIPTION:Learn how to become a multi-media digital storyteller! Sign up today! \nThanks to its partnership with Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication\, UNITY is excited to announce the UNITY News Communications Camp to be held prior to 2022 UNITY Midyear Conference in February in Phoenix\, Arizona. \nThe UNITY News Bootcamp is one of two pre-National conference trainings being offered. The bootcamp will feature multi-media trainers and mentors (to be announced). \nThe hybrid training will include virtual and in-person training. The first (virtual) training is set for Thursday\, February 17\, at 6 pm MT. The virtual training will be mandatory for those who sign up. During the virtual training\, we will cover the basics of multi-media storytelling. The in-person training will be held on Thursday\, February 24 at 3 pm at the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak. The training is an intensive multi-media storytelling crash course for Native youth who have an interest in video production and wish to have their videos featured as part of UNITY News. Youth participants will be paired with mentors to produce videos to be broadcast during the UNITY Midyear Conference. \nRegistration is limited to the first 15 youth who sign up.
