DESCRIPTION:December 4 at 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm Eastern\nRegister \nThe CDC Division of Reproductive Health’s Enhancing Reviews and Surveillance to Eliminate Maternal Mortality (www.cdc.gov/ERASEMM) program supports maternal mortality review committees (MMRCs) to identify and review deaths during and within a year of pregnancy\, including documenting prevention opportunities. CDC works with MMRCs to improve review processes that inform recommendations for preventing future deaths. \nExisting reviews include deaths during and within a year of pregnancy among American Indian and Alaska Native persons. However\, there are no Tribal MMRCs. Tribal MMRCs could adapt MMRC processes to reflect community priorities and culturally appropriate approaches to maternal mortality prevention; have direct access to their data and determine the use of their data; and provide recommendations relevant to the community made by a tribally appointed committee to prevent pregnancy-related mortality. \nThe CDC would like to learn about Tribally led maternal health improvement work from Tribal leaders\, Tribal citizens\, Urban Indian Organizations\, Tribal health care providers\, Tribal serving organizations\, and others working in Tribal maternal health\, to inform a sustainable funding initiative for Tribal Nations and Tribal serving organizations. \nYour feedback is valuable and they are interested in learning about: \n\nYour experiences with promoting maternal health in the communities where you live and/or serve and opportunities you see for improvement.\nInformation and data about maternal health that you currently use and important gaps.\nConsiderations for conducting a review of deaths during or within one year of pregnancy in Tribal communities.

In response\, DOE seeks to recognize the vital work that Tribal Nations and collaboratives do to support Tribal participation in offshore wind energy decision-making processes that affect their communities\, cultural resources\, economic opportunities\, and the homelands and ocean spaces that they steward. \nTo do this\, DOE is proposing to launch a capacity accelerator to provide direct funding and technical assistance to Tribes. This accelerator could support engagement in site assessment and leasing\, involvement in environmental monitoring\, and advancement of wind energy equity. Taking place over multiple years\, this effort would include several application and funding opportunities. \nFirst\, DOE wants Tribal input on the design of the accelerator. DESCRIPTION:December 13 at 2:00 pm Eastern\nRegister \nJoin Treasury for a webinar to discuss final regulations on joint ownership arrangements pay and elective pay under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). \nPrior to the Inflation Reduction Act\, entities eligible for elective pay – like Tribes – could not benefit from clean energy tax credits because they had little or no federal tax liability. The recently released final rules contain amendments to the Income Tax Regulations (26 CFR part 1) under section 761(a) of the Internal Revenue Code (Code) that will allow for co-ownership arrangements of properties eligible for elective pay. This will allow Tribes to seek elective payment for certain IRA tax credits for properties that are jointly owned with other entities.
