SUMMARY:From Planning to Response: Developing Effective Tribal Community Response Plans
DESCRIPTION:Date and Time: September 24\, 2026\, from 2:00 to 3:15 pm EDT \nRegister Here: https://usao.webex.com/weblink/register/r9bdbfff6ff5acb12f3e2ef4832424f85 \nDescription: This webinar will explore how Tribal Community Response Plans (TCRPs) can strengthen a community’s response to missing persons cases. Drawing from Tribal community experiences and technical assistance efforts\, presenters will discuss how TCRPs build partnerships\, clarify roles\, improve coordination\, and establish practical response procedures that can be activated during a crisis. \nParticipants will learn a step-by-step approach to developing and sustaining a TCRP\, including community assessment\, stakeholder engagement\, tabletop exercises\, plan development\, training\, and long-term maintenance. Presenters will share lessons learned\, common challenges\, and strategies for creating plans that are realistic\, actionable\, and sustainable. \nBy the end of the webinar\, participants will have a clearer understanding of how to begin or strengthen a TCRP in their community\, identify key stakeholders\, build collaborative partnerships\, and maintain preparedness over time. \nThis training is available to all interested parties. There is no charge to attend this training\, and CLE will not be available. \nThis training is a joint effort hosted by federal law enforcement agencies responding to violent crime in Indian Country. Sponsoring agencies include the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Indian Country Training Initiative\, the United States Indian Police Academy\, the Federal Bureau of Investigation\, the Drug Enforcement Administration\, the Bureau of Alcohol\, Tobacco\, Firearms and Explosives\, and the Department of the Interior’s Office of Law Enforcement and Security’s Victim Assistance Program. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Lamesha Bowman at Lamesha.Bowman@usdoj.gov\, Deborah Thomas at Deborah.Thomas@usdoj.gov or Leslie A. Hagen at Leslie.hagen3@usdoj.gov.
