SUMMARY:Tribal Public Health Preparedness and Resilience Task Force Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The USET Tribal Public Health Preparedness and Resilience Task Force (Tribal PHPR) is a Tribally centered epidemiological approach to public health preparedness and resilience. Its primary goal is to strengthen the resilience of Tribal Nations in the USET region through strategies focused on mitigation\, prevention\, and preparation in the disaster management cycle.  \n\n\n\nThe Task Force also builds relationships between Tribal Nations and the USET Epidemiology Team\, creating a space to share best practices\, discuss public health strategies\, and collaborate on preparedness efforts. \n\n\n\nWhen: The first Tuesday of each month at 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Central/1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EasternMeetings will last 30-60 minutes\, depending on the topic. DESCRIPTION:Join the USET’s Office of Environmental Resource Management (OERM) Tribal Community Resilience Program for a series of virtual roundtable discussions on Tribal Nations’ resilience strategies\, successes\, and challenges. Each roundtable will begin with a short presentation on an environmental or community project taking place in the USET region followed by questions and open discussion for attendees to learn from one another and build community across the region. The topic of each roundtable will be announced the week before each session via social media and email. We encourage attendees to join even the sessions that may not be obviously related to their interests or duties since all facets of environmental resilience interact and discussions are enriched by diverse participants. \n\n\n\nThese roundtables are intended exclusively for Tribal citizens and staff of Tribal Nations and Tribal organizations\, especially in the USET region\, and are not open to non-Tribal partners. To promote a comfortable and safer environment for discussion\, the roundtables will not be recorded. SUMMARY:USDA Forest Service Tribal Forum: EXPLORE Act (Section 121-BOLT)
DESCRIPTION:Honorable Tribal Leader: \n\n\n\nThe U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service\, in conjunction with the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management\, is notifying you of the opportunity to consult on the implementation of Section 121 of the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences (EXPLORE) Act\, also known as the BOLT Act. \n\n\n\nThis requires the Departments of Agriculture and Interior to identify opportunities to develop or complete long-distance bike trails. The Summary Analysis document summarizes key pieces of the BOLT Act and identifies how implementation may affect Tribal governments\, Alaska Native Corporations\, and the Tribal citizens they may represent.  It also identifies how bike trails\, maps\, signage\, and promotional activities\, identified through Section 121 could be leveraged by Tribes to support Tribal tourism efforts.  \n\n\n\nThis information\, as well as information on other agency issues\, is also available on the Forest Service\, Office of Tribal Relations’ National Consultation webpage at https://www.fs.usda.gov/working-with-us/tribal-relations/national-consultation. \n\n\n\nTogether\, the agencies are planning a Tribal Forum engagement session on June 29th to share information related to EXPLORE Act sections anticipated for 2026 and answer questions pertaining to Section 121.
