DESCRIPTION:  \n*This special event is in conjunction with the USET/USET SPF Annual Board of Directors Meeting\, hosted by the Seminole Tribe of Florida on October 7-9\, 2024\, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino\, Hollywood. The tour requires separate registration. \n  \n\n  \n \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nTribal Public Health Preparedness and Resilience is a Tribally-centered epidemiological approach to public health preparedness and resilience with the primary goal of strengthening the resilience of USET member Tribal Nations through public health strategies focused on the mitigation\, prevention\, and preparation phases of the disaster management cycle. The intention of the Task Force is an opportunity for Tribal Nations to work together and learn from one another on all public health preparedness topics and to break down the silos seen between health\, environmental\, and emergency management resources. \nWhat: Attend tours of the University of Miami Marine Campus\, Gordon Center\, and Medical Campus\, and participate in presentations about hurricanes. These tours will be led by experts from the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine\, Atmospheric\, and Earth Science and Miller School of Medicine. Participants will be provided demonstrations and simulations\, and future offerings/trainings will be discussed. DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: This month’s Infectious Disease ECHO has been canceled due to the USET/USET SPF Annual Meeting. We look forward to seeing you in November. \n\n \nWe invite you and your staff to participate in the Infectious Disease ECHO. This ECHO merged the previous COVID-19 and Hepatitis C ECHOs and will focus on a different topic every month. Additionally\, clinical cases are encouraged to be submitted to gain insight into healthcare recommendations from other medical providers working in the field.  Beginning in March 2024\, this no-cost telehealth series is held on the second Wednesday of every month at 1:00 pm Central/2:00 pm Eastern. \nEach session is one hour in length and provides an opportunity for participants to: \n\nLearn about emerging infectious diseases\nGain skills on treating different infectious diseases\nContinue to stay up to date on COVID-19\n\nWho should attend? New dates are below \n\nThe USET Office of Environmental Resource Management Department is providing a virtual workshop on Wetland Program Plan Writing. Participants will receive instruction and support to outline long-term goals and actions for Tribal departments managing wetlands through Wetland Program Plans (WPP). This four-part writing webinar will review the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed WPP core elements and actions\, hear presentations from Tribal wetland specialists about their wetland programs\, and put departmental goals and objectives into writing using a draft WPP template.
