This program was developed to help schools and child-care facilities to implement a voluntary program for reducing lead in drinking water. \nOur Lead Testing program promotes voluntary training\, testing of drinking water for lead\, and taking corrective action if problems are identified. For USET Member Tribal Nation participants\, OERM is offering assistance to conduct testing at Tribal schools and child-care facilities. USET will assist with sampling Tribal childcare facilities\, and will collect data such as sampling results and facility location on behalf of participating Member Tribal Nations. The June 21 webinar will explore federal contracting in Indian Country—its trends\, opportunities\, and barriers\, and its potential for driving revenue and employment that contribute to an economy that works for all. \nOver the last 40 years\, Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs)\, Native Hawaiian Organizations (NHOs)\, and federally recognized Tribal Nations have increasingly done business with the world’s largest procurer of goods and services: the U.S. government. Recent research from CICD found that all three Native entity types have seen growth in federal contracting revenue. Federal contracting is the primary source of revenue for ANCs and NHOs and the second-largest source for tribes\, following gaming. Despite this growth\, Native entities’ revenue from federal contracting remains a small share of all federal contracting revenue. \nJoin on June 21 as they consider opportunities for Native entities to advance economic prosperity through federal contracting—and barriers to accessing and succeeding with federal contracting. Subject matter experts from national Native organizations and the federal government will discuss federal contracting’s role in economic development. Representatives from ANCs\, NHOs\, and Tribal enterprises will then share their experiences in the industry.

DESCRIPTION:Greetings Tribal Leader\, \nYou are invited to participate in a virtual roundtable discussion with Kevin Sligh\, the Director of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) to discuss our Tribal Engagement Program. Over the past year\, BSEE has been working diligently to expand its National Tribal Engagement Program (NTEP). Expansion of the Program includes the hiring of a new Tribal Liaison Officer\, a Tribal Coordinator\, and additional Regional Tribal Liaisons who will be locally accessible points of contact for the Alaska\, Gulf of Mexico\, and Pacific Outer Continental Shelf Regions\, as well as the Eastern Seaboard. \nThe BSEE has the authority to oversee safety and environmental standards related to offshore energy and mineral exploration\, development\, and production under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. This authority allows BSEE to regulate energy-related activities on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf\, which is seaward of states’ jurisdiction off of the west coast in the Pacific Ocean; off of Alaska in the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas\, the Bering Sea\, and Cook Inlet; in the Gulf of Mexico; and off of the East Coast in the Atlantic Ocean. \nWhile the purpose of the Tribal Roundtable is for BSEE to discuss the BSEE National Tribal Engagement Program with interested Tribes\, we also intend to use the roundtable to describe some of our key initiatives. We will explain how the BSEE regions and program offices collaborate and plan to work together with Tribes so you will have an expanded voice in Federal actions that may have Tribal implications. SUMMARY:FCC Webinar: Funding for ACP Outreach on Tribal Lands
DESCRIPTION:The FCC will host an informational webinar on Wednesday\, June 28\, 2023\, on the Affordable Connectivity (ACP) Outreach Grant Program\, Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) Round 2.  The ACP Outreach Grant Program seeks to enlist trusted community messengers to develop innovative outreach strategies to reach qualifying\, low-income households living on Tribal lands\, to increase awareness of and encourage participation in the ACP. \nThe Tribal webinar is scheduled for Wednesday\, June 28\, 2023\, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. ET and will provide a detailed overview of the second NOFO (Round 2) that includes the National Competitive Outreach Program (NCOP) and the Tribal Competitive Outreach Program (TCOP)\, including eligibility\, how to navigate the application process\, and what to expect after submitting an application.  This event is free and registration is open to the public.   \nTo register for the informational webinar\, please email Tribal.Events@fcc.gov with the subject line “ACP Tribal Webinar.”  The webinar will be recorded and available online after the event.  \nACP is a $14.2 billion FCC affordability program that helps qualifying low-income households pay for the broadband they need for work\, school\, healthcare and more.  On May 25\, 2023\, the FCC released the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Round 2 of the TCOP.  Round 2 allocates $5 million to each of the NCOP and TCOP. \n\nEligible entities for Round 2 of TCOP include Tribal governments and subdivisions thereof\, Tribally designated housing entities\, Tribally designated community-based organizations\, Tribally designated community anchor institutions\, Tribally designated public service organizations\, and consortia of these listed entities. \nThe TCOP grant application deadline is July 28\, 2023\, 6:00 p.m. EST.      \nPrior to the webinar\, ONAP encourages participants to read the ACP Outreach Grant Program NOFO for Round 2 and additional reference documents (Frequently Asked Questions\, Fact Sheet) available at https://www.fcc.gov/acp-grants.  ONAP further encourages that interested individuals e-mail questions in advance the event to tribal.events@fcc.gov.
