This ECHO is merged the previous COVID-19 and Hepatitis C ECHOs and will focus on a different topic every month. Additionally\, clinical cases are encouraged to be submitted to gain insight into healthcare recommendations from other medical providers working in the field.  This no-cost telehealth series will be held throughout 2023 on the second Friday of every month at 11:00 am Central/12:00 pm Eastern. \nEach session will be one hour in length that will provide an opportunity for participants to: \n\nLearn about emerging infectious diseases\nGain skills on treating different infectious diseases\nContinue to stay up to date on COVID-19\n\nThe September session will focus on Syphilis. \nWho should attend? DESCRIPTION:Treasury has issued a Dear Tribal Leader Letter announcing a Tribal consultation on an Interim Final Rule for the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF). The SLFRF allocates $20 billion for Tribal governments to support response and recovery from the COVID-19 public health emergency. In December 2022\, Congress amended the SLFRF program in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 to provide additional flexibility for SLFRF recipients to use funds to respond to natural disasters\, build critical infrastructure\, and support community development. An Interim Final Rule for the SLFRF was published and became effective on August 9\, 2023 to implement the SLFRF changes made in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. DESCRIPTION:National Indian Country Training Initiative Training Announcement \nCourse: First Responders to Violent Crime Training\nWhen:  September 19 – 21\, 2023\nWhere: Columbia\, SC\nRegister  \n The U.S. Department of Justice’s National Indian Country Training Initiative\, together with the Department of the Interior’s Office of Law Enforcement and Security\, is pleased to announce that they are co-sponsoring a training titled First Responders to Violent Crime Training.  The training will be held September 19-21\, 2023\, at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia\, South Carolina. For those students selected to attend\, travel and lodging accommodations will be provided by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Education. \n The First Responders to Violent Crime Training is for newer Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) working violent crime especially domestic violence\, sexual assault\, and child abuse cases\, in areas like Indian Country\, National Parks\, or on public lands.  This basic course\, in part\, will include lectures on the following: Sexual Assault Investigations-Common Challenges; The Neurobiology of Trauma: Understanding Potential Victim Trauma; Interviewing Child Victims and Witnesses; Investigating the Non-Fatal Strangulation Case; Report Writing; Evidence Collection; Testifying in Court and Victims’ Rights and Services. \n Registration deadline: July 21\, 2023.\nApplicants will receive notification of their application status by July 28\, 2023. \nThe Executive Office for United States Attorneys will provide reasonable accommodations to people with disabilities.  Requests should be made to Heather Cumper as early as possible\, preferably at least two weeks in advance of the seminar.  No nominee will be excluded from a course on the basis of a disability-related accommodations request.  \nThis training is authorized under the Government Employees Training Act.  \nIf you have any questions regarding this training\, please feel free to contact Heather Cumper at Heather.Cumper@usdoj.gov or Leslie A. The OERM Lead Testing program has adopted the EPA 3 Ts program for Reducing Lead in Drinking Water in Schools and Child Care Facilities. This program was developed to help schools and child-care facilities to implement a voluntary program for reducing lead in drinking water. \nOur Lead Testing program promotes voluntary training\, testing of drinking water for lead\, and taking corrective action if problems are identified. For USET Member Tribal Nation participants\, OERM is offering assistance to conduct testing at Tribal schools and child-care facilities. USET will assist with sampling Tribal childcare facilities\, and will collect data such as sampling results and facility location on behalf of participating Member Tribal Nations.
