Written comments will be welcome. \n\nIn response to the two March 2023 NPRMs\, DEA received at least six comments from Alaskan Native and American Indian (AN/AI) organizations expressing concerns about the proposed telemedicine regulations. Among their concerns was DEA’s assertion that there would be no direct impact on Tribal communities\, which they argued was inaccurate. They contended that despite the telemedicine exception for certain Indian Health Services and Tribal practitioners there would still be a substantial direct effect on Tribal communities given the limited practical and legal scope of the exception under 21 USC 802(54)(C). \nBased on the comments received regarding the two NPRMs and presentations at the September 2023 Telemedicine Listening Sessions\, DEA requests interested Tribal communities and persons to share concerns and feedback regarding the practice of Telemedicine and its impact on Tribal communities. \nDEA\, in coordination with the US Department of Justice Office of Tribal Justice (OTJ)\, will be hosting two virtual consultations.

DESCRIPTION:The USET Behavioral Health Team is hosting two in-person training courses to equip USET member Tribal Nations to overcome suicide. The training will be in Nashville for clinicians\, clinic staff\, and emergency services staff including those that may encounter persons experiencing a mental health crisis. \nASIST is a two-day in-person workshop where you’ll learn to how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide\, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support. SUMMARY:National Culvert Removal\, Replacement\, and Restoration Grants FY 2023 – FY 2026: General Overview Webinar
DESCRIPTION:July 15 at 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm Eastern\nRegister \nThe U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will host a webinar to assist applicants with applying to the National Culvert Removal\, Replacement\, and Restoration Grant Program (also referred to as the Culvert Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) program). See Culvert AOP Program Website (FHWA) for more information. \nThe Bipartisan Infrastructure Law established the Culvert AOP Program and provides $196 million per year\, over five years (from FY2022 to FY2026) for grants to replace\, remove\, and repair culverts or weirs that would meaningfully improve or restore fish passage for anadromous fish. In the first year of the program\, DOT awarded $195\,877\,358 to 59 applications from Tribal\, State\, and local governments to advance improvements at 169 locations nationwide. The FY 2023 – FY 2026 Notice of Funding covers funds available for FY 2023 through 2026\, along with any unused funds from FY 2022. \nThe “How to Apply for National Culvert Removal\, Replacement\, and Restoration Grants FY 2023 – FY 2026: General Overview” webinar is intended to provide an overview of updates to the Culvert AOP Program for FY 2023 – FY 2026\, provide applicants with knowledge for applying to program\, and clarify any questions associated with the application process. This webinar is free and open to the public. It is intended for a broad range of attendees\, including representatives of organizations eligible to receive funds under the Culvert AOP program\, which are States\, units of local governments\, and Tribal Nations.

DESCRIPTION:Dear Tribal Leader Letter\nFraming Paper\nNDRF slide deck \nJuly 15 at 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm Eastern\nRegister \nJuly 18 at 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm Eastern\nRegister \nFEMA will host virtual tribal consultations with Tribal Nations to discuss the update of the National Disaster Recovery Framework (2016)\, which explains how the federal government supports disaster impacted Tribal Nations as they recover from disasters and provides a framework to support Tribal Nations planning for and leading their own recovery operations. FEMA’s Interagency Coordination Division (ICD) originally began the NDRF version 3 update in 2021 before strategically pausing at the end of 2022 to align with other ongoing recovery priorities. In February 2024\, the effort began again\, specifically focused on improving the following five issue areas that partners have identified as important areas for updating – recovery scope\, roles and responsibilities\, capacity and resources\, planning\, and data metrics. \nTribal Nations can submit their comments and any questions via email with the subject line “NDRF – Written Comments” to fema-tribal@fema.dhs.gov. Feedback and comments are due by August 9\, 2024.
