The USET Climate Change Program and the USDA APHIS have partnered up to offer a regionally focused workshop that will introduce federally recognized Tribal Nations to USDA APHIS programs and opportunities. The workshop will focus on presentations and Tribal case study examples related to Emergency Response Planning Documents (ERPs). APHIS subject matter experts will also utilize interactive learning sessions to discuss regionally prioritized issues and concerns of animal and plant health. \nUSET will follow Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)\, Tribal\, federal\, and state public health guidelines and updates regarding COVID-19. Native Psychological Brilliance refers to the intelligence\, strengths\, balance\, innate resources\, and resilience of Native people. This no-cost telehealth series will be held throughout 2022 on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 1:00 pm Central/2:00 pm Eastern. Each session will be one hour in length. \nWho should attend? Electronic case reporting (eCR) can provide real time data to Tribal public health authorities to ensure a swift investigation process. As sovereign governments\, Tribal Nations have inherent public health authority (PHA) which bestows upon them the legal authority to receive case reports on conditions of interest to them.  \n NIHB anticipates funding two high-quality proposals from Tribes or Tribal organizations for $350\,000 each. This project will run from approximately February 2023 to July 2023. SUMMARY:USET Infectious Disease ECHO
DESCRIPTION:We invite you and your staff to participate in the new Infectious Disease ECHO. This ECHO is merging the COVID-19 and Hepatitis C ECHOs and will focus on a different topic every month. This ECHO will also include COVID-19 and influenza updates for the USET Region. Additionally\, clinical cases are encouraged to be submitted to gain insight into healthcare recommendations from other medical providers working in the field.  This no-cost telehealth series will be held throughout 2023 on the second Friday of every month at 11:00 am Central/12:00 pm Eastern. \nEach session will be one hour in length that will provide an opportunity for participants to: \n\nLearn about emerging infectious diseases\nGain skills on treating different infectious diseases\nContinue to stay up to date on COVID-19\n\nWho should attend? Tribal Nation health directors\, clinic staff\, physicians\, nurses\, Tribal Epidemiology Center staff\, and anyone supporting Tribal Nation citizens through the health sector are welcome to join. \nRegistration: Register in advance for the session. You ONLY need to register ONCE for the series. A copy of the List for Fiscal Year 2022 can be found here:\nhttps://www.federalregister.gov/ d/2022-025 84. \nIt is important to note the list is NOT a definitive list of all potentially c:ontractable programs and there may be many more that have yet to be identified. Prior versions of the List have included non-BIA programs or portions of programs that are eligible for inclusion in self-governance funding agreements with Indian Tribes. Past Lists have also included Fiscal Year programmatic targets for non-BIA bureaus under Title IV of the ISDEAA. We seek feedback on what information would be most helpful to Indian Tribes. \nJoint Secretarial Order 3403 directs the Department’s bureaus to “[m]ake agreements with Indian Tribes to collaborate in the co-stewardship of Federal lands and waters under the Departments’ jurisdiction\, including for wildlife and its habitat.” The Department views the ISDEAA as an importanrmeans for fulfilling the goals of Joint Secretarial Order 3403\, and the List as a valuable resource for Indian Tribes seeking ways to develop collaborative arrangements in the co-stewardship of Federal lands and waters. \nA listening session on this issue was previously held at the 2022 Self Governance Conference on August 2\, 2022\, at which non-BIA program staff were available for questions and answers. The results indicated that further consultation on the format and content of the List would be helpful. This opportunity continues NIHB’s commitment to the strengthening of Tribal public health systems by offering support and technical assistance directlym to Tribes for projects designed to build their public health capacity. \nTribes will have the opportunity to perform work in performance improvement (PI) and/or system improvement (SI).
