A copy of the List for Fiscal Year 2022 can be found here:\nhttps://www.federalregister.gov/ d/2022-025 84. \nIt is important to note the list is NOT a definitive list of all potentially c:ontractable programs and there may be many more that have yet to be identified. Prior versions of the List have included non-BIA programs or portions of programs that are eligible for inclusion in self-governance funding agreements with Indian Tribes. Past Lists have also included Fiscal Year programmatic targets for non-BIA bureaus under Title IV of the ISDEAA. We seek feedback on what information would be most helpful to Indian Tribes. \nJoint Secretarial Order 3403 directs the Department’s bureaus to “[m]ake agreements with Indian Tribes to collaborate in the co-stewardship of Federal lands and waters under the Departments’ jurisdiction\, including for wildlife and its habitat.” The Department views the ISDEAA as an importanrmeans for fulfilling the goals of Joint Secretarial Order 3403\, and the List as a valuable resource for Indian Tribes seeking ways to develop collaborative arrangements in the co-stewardship of Federal lands and waters. \nA listening session on this issue was previously held at the 2022 Self Governance Conference on August 2\, 2022\, at which non-BIA program staff were available for questions and answers. The results indicated that further consultation on the format and content of the List would be helpful. It’s important for landowners to understand the rules and regulations imposed by the federal government as well as Tribal nations. \nJoin the Indian Land Tenure Foundation (ILTF) for an Online Town Hall to discuss economic development on individual allotted lands. The town hall will be held at 7 p.m. Central time on Tuesday\, Jan. 24. This session will discuss what the legal framework means for business and land transactions as well as taxes generated by economic activity. \nThere is no cost to take part in the town hall but participants do need to register in advance. Click here to register. \n  \nPresenter \nKim Dunn (Little River Band of Ottawa Chippewa Indians) has 30 years of experience as an IRS Tax Attorney working initially for Estate and Gift Tax and later for the Indian Tribal Governments Division. She has also been a judge in the State of Washington and has served on the Board of Directors for tribal casinos in Washington and Michigan. \nAmy Wilson is the Founder and Principal Consultant of SEE Renewal\, LLC\, which helps tribal communities obtain sustainable solutions for economic and community development. The 30-day public feedback period on the Proof of Concept will conclude on March 2. \nThis Proof of Concept will be based on 2010 Census data. The Proof of Concept will not include accompanying summary files or a full run of the 2010 Census data. Rather\, they are asking users to evaluate data fitness-for-use based on the proposed thresholds and margins of error using metrics and example data. \nThe Detailed DHC-A will provide population counts and sex and age statistics for detailed racial and ethnic groups and American Indian and Alaska Native tribes and villages. Improvements in the design of the 2020 Census race and ethnicity questions\, as well as improved processing and coding\, enabled them to collect more detailed race and ethnicity data in 2020 than ever before. SUMMARY:American Indian College Fund's Scholarship Kick-Off Event
DESCRIPTION:February 1 at 7:00 pm Central/8:00 pm Eastern\nRegister to join \nThe American Indian College Fund’s (College Fund) scholarship season opens on February 1. Hundreds of scholarships are available for all areas of study under the Full Circle Scholarship Program\, and students attending tribal colleges and universities can receive additional scholarship support with the program. Any Native American U.S. citizen who is an enrolled member\, or descendant of an enrolled member of a state or federally recognized tribe may apply. Applicants must also have a minimum 2.0 grade point average and plan to enroll as a full-time student at a nonprofit\, accredited college or university. \nTo help students understand the application process and the many scholarships available to them\, the College Fund is hosting a free scholarship kick-off webinar at 6:00 p.m. MST on February 1. Prizes will also be awarded at the event. \n
