DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: This training has been postponed. \n\nIntroduction to Heavy Equipment Training\npresented by USET Office of Environmental Resource Management and Texas A&M Engineering Extension Services (TEEX) \nThe USET Introduction to Heavy Equipment Training will lead Tribal Nation utility staff in hands-on instruction for safe\, qualified and productive use heavy machinery in the workplace. This Heavy Equipment Training is sponsored by TEEX and will provide opportunities for Mini-Excavator training. \nWhen: The training will take place over three days (June 6-8\, 2022): \nDay 1 (June 6) – The first day will be in-class training.\nDays 2 & 3 (June 7-8): The next two days will be for hands-on field experience using the heavy equipment to move earth \nWhere: Jena Band of Choctaw Indians\, Trout\, Louisiana \nWho should attend: USET Member Tribal Nation utility workers \nParticipants will: \n\nlearn about safe\, productive use of heavy equipment in the workspace\nreceive effective\, instructor-lead training\nbe in a class atmosphere with other Tribal Nation utility workers\n\nThis is a free training for USET member Tribal Nation utilities. Travel will be required. A stipend will be provided to cover expenses. DESCRIPTION:We invite you and your staff to participate in the new Tribal Behavioral Health ECHO series\, Reclaiming Native Psychological Brilliance\, launching on January 25\, 2022. Native Psychological Brilliance refers to the intelligence\, strengths\, balance\, innate resources\, and resilience of Native people. This no-cost telehealth series will be held throughout 2022 on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 1:00 pm Central/2:00 pm Eastern. Each session will be one hour in length. \nWho should attend? Tribal Nation health directors\, clinic staff\, counselors\, social workers\, physicians\, nurses\, and anyone supporting Tribal Nation citizens through the behavioral health/mental health sector are welcome to join. \nThe one-hour Reclaiming Native Psychological Brilliance virtual series will provide an opportunity for participants to: \n\nGain skills on strength-based approaches in partnership with Native People to enhance Native behavioral health\, and\nDiscuss ways that Native brilliance is demonstrated and supports behavioral health\, and\nLearn about Native brilliance examples to share with behavioral health and other health care staff\, as well as with local Tribal Nation citizens\n\nThe concept of Native psychological brilliance will be celebrated through Native music videos and Native spoken word performances as part of each session of the Reclaiming Native Psychological Brilliance series. \nContinuing education credits will be provided. \nRegister in advance for the session. \nFor questions\, please contact Bryan Hendrix\, USET THPS Quality Improvement Analyst\, at bhendrix@usetinc.org.
