From complex supply chain and contractor landscapes to intuitive project management structure\, these Tribes have expanded their capacity to ensure successful project results. \nMetlakatla: Navigating the Complex Supply Chain & Contractor Landscape: Education and Internal Capacity\nThis presentation will address the critical bottlenecks currently impacting supply chains and the internal capacity constraints faced by contractors across the energy industry. We will explore practical educational initiatives\, training programs\, and strategic frameworks Metlakatla implemented to upskill the workforce and scale contractor capacity. \nBarona: DOE Financial Award Restructuring and Leveraging Flexibility\nThis presentation will delve into the complexities of award restructuring\, highlighting the common hurdles Barona and other organizations have faced during transitional phases. We will learn and discuss how incorporating flexibility into award structures can help organizations adapt to shifting electricity regulatory and market environments. \nNavajo Nation – Ojo Encino Chapter House: Examining Collaborative Management Structure for Success\nThis presentation will showcase the Navajo Nation Tribal Government – Ojo Encino Chapter’s residential distributed generation initiative as a blueprint for community-led renewable energy deployment. DESCRIPTION:Dear Tribal Leader and Urban Indian Organization Leader: \nI am writing to invite you to participate in an Indian Health Service (IHS) listening session on the IHS Health Care Facilities Construction Priority System and the remaining projects on the IHS Facilities Construction Priority List. \nI am also initiating Tribal Consultation and Urban Confer with Tribal Leaders and Urban Indian Organization (UIO) Leaders from the IHS Phoenix Area on the Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC) replacement project. \nThe Indian Health Care Improvement Act requires the IHS to maintain a Health Care Facilities Construction Priority System and protects the priority status of certain projects established under the construction priority system in effect on March 23\, 2010. See 25 U.S.C. §1631(c)(1). These protected projects include certain projects first placed on the IHS Facilities Construction Priority List in the early 1990s and that remain incomplete today. \nThe IHS continues to make progress on these projects. Each year\, the IHS submits a five-year facilities plan to Congress and makes it publicly available\, providing clear information on project progress\, work that remains\, and the options for advancing these projects. More information on the IHS Health Care Facilities Construction Program\, including links to the five-year plan\, is available in the attached enclosure. \nIHS Health Care Facilities Construction Priority System Informational Listening Session \nPlease make plans to join the IHS for an informational listening session on October 20\, 2026\, from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. PDT\, during the National Congress of American Indians 83rd Annual Convention and Marketplace in Palm Springs\, California. The listening session will be held in the Smoketree F Room at the Palm Springs Convention Center located at 277 N. Avenida Caballeros in Palm Springs\, CA 92262. \nDuring this informational listening session\, the IHS will explain the Health Care Facilities Construction Priority System\, review the remaining projects on the IHS Facilities Construction Priority List and their status\, and describe how Congress funds health care facilities construction. \nThe session will also provide an opportunity to hear Tribal perspectives and discuss strategies for advancing and completing the remaining projects. \nI encourage you to participate\, ask questions\, and share your perspectives as the IHS considers strategies for the path forward.

SUMMARY:2026 USET Community Resilience Roundtables
DESCRIPTION:Join the USET’s Office of Environmental Resource Management (OERM) Tribal Community Resilience Program for a series of virtual roundtable discussions on Tribal Nations’ resilience strategies\, successes\, and challenges. Each roundtable will begin with a short presentation on an environmental or community project taking place in the USET region followed by questions and open discussion for attendees to learn from one another and build community across the region. The topic of each roundtable will be announced the week before each session via social media and email. We encourage attendees to join even the sessions that may not be obviously related to their interests or duties since all facets of environmental resilience interact and discussions are enriched by diverse participants. \n\n\n\nThese roundtables are intended exclusively for Tribal citizens and staff of Tribal Nations and Tribal organizations\, especially in the USET region\, and are not open to non-Tribal partners. To promote a comfortable and safer environment for discussion\, the roundtables will not be recorded. For the same reason\, AI/note-taking bots are not permitted and will be removed from each session. \n\n\n\nWhen: The fourth Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Central/2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Eastern \n\n\n\nWho should attend: Tribal Nation staff\, leaders\, and citizens interested in environmental and community resilience regardless of typical work duties \n\n\n\nLearning objectives: Attendees will learn about new approaches to environmental and community resilience across Nations and sectors while building relationships and potential partnerships across the region. \n\n\n\nRegistration is open! \n\n\n\nQuestions? Please contact Steph Courtney\, USET Community Resilience Liaison\, at scourtney@usetinc.org with any questions or concerns.
