MASHANTUCKET, Conn. — February slot revenue at Foxwoods® Resort Casino increased 2.2 percent in February to $39.3 million compared to $38.5 million in February 2013. Handle for the month was $479.3 million, up 3.6 percent from the $462.7 million wagered in February 2013.
Foxwoods’ contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund this month is $10.5 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the State since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to nearly than $3.7 billion.
“The increase over last year is certainly impacted by last year’s blizzard; however, this is a positive sign,” said President and CEO Scott Butera. “The continued consistency in our numbers signifies that the direction we are taking is the correct one for our business and our loyal guests.”
A solid schedule of events continues to be the main focus of Foxwoods Resort Casino. The resort’s newest lounge space, THE BOX, located in the Jewelry District of the Grand Pequot Tower, offers the Drunken Palette, where guests receive step-by-step instructions from a local artist to create their own work of art, every Friday in March from 8pm-10pm. On Saturday nights, THE BOX features a hot new dance party with DJ Alexie from 10:00pm until 2:00 am.
