‘Seeds of Hope’ documentary screening in Kingston March 28

KINGSTON, N.Y. >> Community members are invited to a screening of “Seeds of Hope,” a documentary that tells the story of a collaborative initiative to preserve Native American culture and foodways through seed saving at the Hudson Valley Farm Hub.

The event, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at the Senate Garage, 4 North Front St.,is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged, as seating may be limited. To sign up, visit http://hvfarmhub.org/events.

The short film , directed by filmmaker and environmentalist Jon Bowermaster, is part of a series entitled “Hope on the Hudson.” The screening will begin at 6:45 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session.

In 2016, the nonprofit Seedshed and the Hudson Valley Farm Hub joined with the Akwesasne Mohawk Tribe of northern New York to create a Native American Seed Sanctuary to protect, honor, and return sacred seeds to the tribe.
