Seven Tribal Representatives from five Tribal Nations attended the Tribal Wetlands Workshop hosted by USET’s Office of Environmental Resource Management in conjunction with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Forest Service.
The Workshop was held at the Santee Experimental Forest near Charleston, SC.
Tribal Nations in attendance were the Catawba Indian Nation, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Shinnecock Indian Nation, Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, and for the first time, Pamunkey Indian Tribe. Attendees were taught Wetlands Benefits, Delineation, 404 Permitting, QA/QC, Water Quality Standards, and two mornings in the field learning Wetlands Delineation.
