Job Description:

·Founding teacher of the first Lakota language based pre-school class at the Banana Bunch.

·Pre-school class, ten children, ages 3-5.

·Class will be taught exclusively in the Lakota Language with Lakota Language classroom materials.

·The applicant will design and create the pre-school Lakota language based curriculum for this class.


·Must be proficient or fluent in the Lakota language.

·No specific higher is education required, but preference for applicants with specialized Lakota language teaching training.

·Must have qualifications or skills to create a Lakota language based state compliant pre-school curriculum.

·The person working in this position must display a professional attitude and emotional maturity at all times.

·The person must be committed to the positive development of children, have good communication skills, be friendly, nurturing and enthusiastic.

·The person must be safety minded and physically and mentally capable of performing the essential functions of the job. Must be energetic and patient.

·All childcare workers will be at least 18 years of age.

·No staff member or volunteer may have a substantiated report of child abuse or neglect.
