DESCRIPTION:USET member Tribal Nations have cared for their communities and environments since time immemorial. This wisdom and these invaluable best practices have been passed down through the generations fostering a unique relationship among each other and all living things. This advances a deep connection with the environment\, providing holistic health approaches\, and cultivates sustainable economic development. \n\n\n\nUSET presents an integrated approach to Tribal Sovereignty and Self-determination through the programmatic lens of our Offices of Environmental Resource Management\, Economic Development\, and Tribal Public Health. This conference hosts learning sessions for Tribal Leadership and staff to engage in a collaborative setting to share knowledge\, wisdom\, and innovation to enhance our collective strength and impact. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen\n\n\n\nThe conference begins on June 15 at 12:00 pm and ends on June 17 at 4:30 pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhere\n\n\n\nLoews Nashville Hotel at Vanderbilt Plaza\, 2100 West End Ave\, Nashville\, TN 37203 \n\n\n\nA Hotel Room Block has been negotiated for this event.  The discounted room rate is $229.00 + taxes per night. Through engaging presentations\, panel discussions\, and networking opportunities\, participants will gain valuable insights\, share expertise\, and forge meaningful connections with fellow professionals and thought leaders. \n\n\n\nThe USET Offices of Environmental Resource Management\, the Economic Development\, and Tribal Public Health will present across these three domains: \n\n\n\n\nOur Homelands: Exploring the relationship between indigenous communities and their ancestral lands\, this track delves into the challenges and best practices of preserving cultural heritage\, community development\, and environmental stewardship.\n\n\n\nOur People: Focusing on the well-being and empowerment of indigenous people\, this track addresses issues such as health\, education\, and the preservation of traditional knowledge and languages.\n\n\n\nOur Voice: Envisioning a future shaped by indigenous perspectives\, this track explores innovative solutions to pressing global challenges and inclusion of indigenous narratives.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpecial Events\n\n\n\nIn addition to dynamic plenary sessions and workshops\, the 2026 Best Practices Conference will host a series of special convenings\, and focused discussions designed to foster collaboration\, policy development\, and shared learning across Tribal leadership and partner organizations. These events create space for targeted dialogue on critical issues impacting Tribal Nations and communities. \n\n\n\nNote: Some special events may be limited to specific audiences. Please refer to the conference agenda and registration details for participation requirements. \n\n\n\n\nUSET Committee Gathering – New Structure & Draft Policy DiscussionThis dedicated gathering brings together USET Committees’ members to review and discuss the proposed new USET Committee structure and associated draft policy framework. This session is an important opportunity for committee members to contribute directly to shaping governance processes and ensuring effective representation and coordination.\n\n\n\nNashville Area Indian Health Service (IHS) Talking SessionJoin representatives from the Nashville Area Office of the Indian Health Service (IHS) for an interactive talking session focused on current initiatives\, emerging priorities\, and opportunities for collaboration with Tribal Nations.\n\n\n\nOTPH Dental Support Center TrainingThe OPTH Dental Support Center Training will focus on practical tools\, best practices\, and technical assistance resources available through OTPH to strengthen dental care delivery within their communities.\n\n\n\nOTPH Maternal Mortality Focus GroupThis focused convening will bring together Tribal leaders\, health professionals\, and subject-matter experts to participate in a session providing a culturally grounded space to discuss maternal health challenges\, share lived and professional experiences and identify strategies to reduce maternal mortality and improve outcomes for Native mothers and families.\n\n\n\nConvening of the Opioid TaskforceThe Opioid Taskforce Convening will provide an opportunity for taskforce members and partners to come together to discuss ongoing efforts to address the opioid crisis in Tribal communities.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExhibitors\n\n\n\nFor inquiries on exhibitor opportunities at the USET 2026 Tribal Best Practices Conference\, please contact us at bpcsupport@usetinc.org. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to Expect\n\n\n\n\nThe hotel does not provide airport shuttle service.\n\n\n\nAll meals will not be provided.\n\n\n\nA wellness room will be available for participants to take a moment to unwind and relieve some stress.\n\n\n\nA lactation room will be provided for participants needing to pump or breastfeed.\n\n\n\nIt will be hot and humid in Nashville. The weather is a bit unpredictable\, but heat and humidity are a guarantee.
