DOI Consultation on Funding Appropriated Under American Rescue Plan

The Department of Interior is seeking feedback from Tribal Nations and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) on additional funding appropriated to Indian Affairs under the American Rescue Plan. The consultation sessions are scheduled by time zones. DOI is seeking input on three general topics:
- The DOI’s collection of Tribal enrollment information;
- The Office of the Assistant Secretary – Indian Affairs and Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) process for distributing $900 million in ARP funds to Tribal governments; and
- The Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) process for distributing $850 million in ARP funds to K-12 schools and TCUs.
