Contracts Training Course
March 18 – March 19 CDT
This comprehensive two-day training program is designed specifically for tribal transportation professionals and provides in-depth instruction on federal construction contracting as it applies to tribal transportation programs. The course covers the full spectrum of contracting processes—from planning and procurement through construction administration, closeout, and maintenance—within the unique regulatory framework governing tribal transportation projects.
Participants will gain practical knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the FHWA Federal Lands Highway Program, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) transportation policies, 25 CFR Part 170 (Tribal Transportation Program regulations), 23 CFR (Federal Highway regulations), and the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA) as they relate to transportation construction and professional services contracting. The training emphasizes real-world application through case studies, interactive exercises, sample contract documents, and group discussion.
This course aligns with FHWA Tribal Transportation Program (TTP) stewardship and oversight requirements and is intended to strengthen tribal capacity for managing federally funded transportation construction projects in compliance with applicable federal laws, regulations, and standards.
