The Bureau of Indian Affairs – Tribal Resilience Program (BIA-TRP) has received a Congressional Directive to complete and submit a report on the unmet infrastructure federal obligations of Tribal Nations facing relocation to higher ground due to climate change. This relates to Tribal Nations experiencing impacts on infrastructure from sea level rise or flooding and erosion along rivers due to more frequent or intense extreme events. Does your Tribal Nation have unmet infrastructure federal obligations for relocation, managed retreat due, or protect in place efforts due to climate change (e.g., costs of developing or relocating infrastructure to less at-risk locations or modifying infrastructure to “protect in place” from climate change impacts)? If so please respond to the USET Tribal Climate Science Liaison, Casey Thornbrugh at email@example.com or Michelle Steen-Adams firstname.lastname@example.org at the University of Oregon. Dr. Steen-Adams is working to compile this information nationally.
