Both of these online tools use a three-step model that attempts to capture information on current and projected future suitable habitat, likelihood of colonization, as well as additional factors such as tree pests and diseases of concern for certain species. With this information compiled the model works to project the responses of 134 tree species and 147 bird species to the effects of climate change based on multiple climate scenarios.
