The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Branch of Tribal Climate Resilience (TCR) publicly announced the FY23 awards for their annual funding program on March 15. More than $120 million was awarded through 146 projects to 102 Tribal Nations and nine Tribal organizations—almost as much as all previous BIA TCR competitions combined, due to supplemental funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act. Eight USET member Tribal Nations received awards, some for multiple projects, totaling over $3.6 million. We congratulate those Nations on their hard work and look forward to collaborating as they continue to build safer, more resilient Nations.

The competition for FY24 funds is expected to be announced in early summer. Staff from BIA TCR will attend and present at the 2024 USET Tribal Climate Resilience Camp about relevant funding opportunities.
