The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is promoting its Wildfire Smoke Air Monitoring Response Technology (WSMART) program. WSMART allows for Tribal Nations, states, and local governments to request air quality sensors for use in times of high wildfire activity or other smoke applications (e.g., monitoring prescribed fire effects). The sensors that measure only PM2.5, which may be phased out of loaning after 2025, may be requested for loan and long-term retention. For all loans, EPA will provide all shipping costs, technical information and SOPs, and troubleshooting support. Learn more on the WSMART homepage.
