The Kurt Grinnell Aquaculture Scholarship Foundation was formed in honor of the late Kurt Grinnell, a Native American leader who made many significant and meaningful contributions to Washington State’s aquaculture industry. Scholarships are awarded to young persons interested in pursuing careers in aquaculture.

The KGASF will accept applications at any time of the year. However, we strongly suggest that applicants who will enroll for the entire academic year (e.g., fall/winter of 2025 and winter/spring of 2026) submit applications by June 15 of each year.  We now receive more requests for scholarship awards than we can support and applications received by June 15 of each year will receive priority consideration. Applicants should provide information as to when they need the funds.
