Administration for Children and Families virtual Tribal Consultation
November 4 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm CDT
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) has recently released the attached Tribal Leader Letter announcing a virtual Tribal Consultation which will take place on November 4, 2021 from 1pm to 5pm ET. ACF administers over 60 programs and has a total budget of $58 billion. The agency says that it provides over $1 billion to Tribal communities annually. You can register for the consultation here.
Specific topics for the consultation suggested by ACF are the ACF Tribal Consultation Policy and other topics suggested through Tribal leader input. Tribal leaders may wish to share support for expanding self-governance programs at HHS, including at ACF, beyond the Indian Health Service.
ACF will also be hosting planning calls on September 20 (4-5pm EDT) and September 27 (4-5pm EDT) that will “identify individuals who will provide oral testimony to ACF and identify additional specific topics of interest for discussion.” You can also suggest topics by emailing them to email@example.com.
ACF will keep the consultation record open for 30 days beyond the consultation date. Comments can be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org.
