To keep you abreast of some major APHIS activities, they are hosting a series of Tribal webinars over the next several months. These webinars are designed to give you a better insight in how APHIS is helping to protect U.S. and Tribal agricultural and natural resources—and citizens—from animal and plant disease and pest threats.

You and members of your staff are invited to attend a Tribal webinar: Aquaculture Health Plan Webinar, on December 1, 2021, at 1:00 pm EDT.

The National Aquaculture Health Plan & Standards (NAHP&S) establishes guidance for national disease reporting, laboratory and testing standardization, surveillance, response, biosecurity, data management, and education and training, which will benefit the nation’s aquaculture health. It also outlines health inspection options to provide consistent and verifiable ways to establish, maintain and certify the health and safety of aquatic livestock, and lists the actions USDA will take in each of these areas to implement the plan. These actions will support the overall health of the aquaculture industry, which will provide protection and assurance for producers of farm-raised aquatic animals in the United States.

They appreciate your ongoing partnership in safeguarding our agriculture, and hope you will join this event. If you have questions about the webinar, please contact ONTL Program Analyst Denise Salvetti at denise.salvetti@usda.gov. Also you can reach out to the Aquaculture Program Leader Katthleen Hartman at kathleen.h.hartman@usda.gov.
