Drug-related activity in Indian Country significantly contributes to violent crime and poses serious health and economic challenges for Indian communities. The Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Justice Services (BIA-OJS) conducts advanced investigations into narcotics, gangs, border issues, and human trafficking violations through its Division of Drug Enforcement (DDE). DDE Special Agents collaborate daily with DDE K-9 teams, OJS General Crimes Special Agents, and uniformed police officers in Indian Country. They also partner with federal and tribal programs to disrupt narcotics sales and dismantle criminal organizations that operate on Indian lands, targeting vulnerable communities. This webinar will provide an in-depth overview of the DDE program, agent capabilities, and available resources for Tribal Nations and other federal agencies working Indian Country.

This training is available to federal, state, and tribal criminal justice personnel, social service providers and community stakeholders serving tribal communities. There is no charge to attend this webinar. CLE will not be provided.

This training is a joint effort hosted by federal law enforcement agencies responding to violent crime in Indian Country. Sponsoring agencies include the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Indian Country Training Initiative, the United States Indian Police Academy, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Department of the Interior’s Office of Law Enforcement and Security’s Victim Assistance Program.
