Bridging the Divide: Ensuring equitable access for Tribal Nations to Land and Water Conservation Fund dollars and other conservation funding

November 21, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm CST

The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) provides 900 million dollars annually in federal funding for conservation efforts including land acquisition. Yet, Tribes have been woefully underrepresented when it comes to receiving Land and Water Conservation funds. Why is that and how can we work together to address barriers for Tribes’ access to federal conservation funding?

Please join us as we share stories and experiences and explore solution-oriented advocacy that would improve access to funds for Tribes to preserve and restore cultural landscapes, support traditional practices, and steward their lands and waters.

This webinar is intended primarily for members of Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities, preservation officers, government decision-makers and nonprofit allies, and includes plenty of time for discussion and Q&A.
