Dear Tribal Leader:

By letter dated September 9, 2024, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Service (IHS) initiated a joint Tribal Consultation seeking your feedback and recommendations on how HUD and IHS programs can better address housing-related water and sewer infrastructure needs within Tribal communities.

We are writing to make you aware that in the interim since we posted the letter, HUD and the IHS have decided to extend the comment submission deadline for this Tribal Consultation. The deadline for submitting comments on the HUD/IHS Housing-related Infrastructure for Tribal Communities Tribal Consultation has been extended from Saturday, November 9, 2024, until Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

We have also scheduled a virtual Tribal Consultation session on Monday, December 16, 2024, at
1:00 p.m. EST. Please make plans to join us at the Consultation Listening Session that follows.
