On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is hosting a virtual listening session for Tribal Nations on HUD’s Proposed Rule to amend their existing floodplain regulations. The proposed rule would require a greater level of flood protection for new construction and substantial rehabilitation projects. Comments on the Proposed Rule are open until May 23, 2023, and must be submitted through the Federal eRulemaking Portal (see the Federal Register announcement for more information).
