October 20 @ 1:00 pm

You are invited to join the first webinar in a new series designed to encourage more Tribal Nations and Native-led organizations to access the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).

This session will offer an overview of the LWCF, including key terminology, common barriers Tribal Nations face in accessing these funds, and first-hand insights from a Tribal leader with direct experience navigating the program. The discussion will also cover new opportunities emerging through the EXPLORE Act, which strengthens pathways for Tribal Nations to benefit from LWCF funding.

Panelists:

  • Anne Richardson (Rappahannock) – Chief of the Rappahannock Tribe
  • Dr. Maggie Carson (Ohkay Owingeh) – Native Affairs Analyst, LWCF National Park Service
  • Dr. Ken Lucero (Zia/Cochiti Pueblos) – Senior Director, Tribal and Indigenous Lands Program at the Trust for Public Lands
  • Starlyn Miller, J.D. (Little Shell Chippewa citizen, Menominee & Mohican descendant) – Senior Director, The Wilderness Society, Native Lands Partnerships

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with guest speakers.
