The RTI Zero Suicide Initiative Coordinating Center will be hosting a 90-minute webinar on the Ask Suicide Screening Questions Toolkit on Tuesday, May 13, at 12:30pm ET. This webinar will be led by IHS’s Suicide Prevention expert, Dr. Pamela End of Horn, and National Institute of Mental Health ASQ experts, Dr. Lisa Horowitz and Deborah Snyder. This webinar will focus on examining how the ASQ can be used and identifying the advantages and disadvantages of using the ASQ.

Suicide has been recognized as a serious public health issue that disproportionately impacts American Indian and Alaska Native communities. To better serve at-risk populations and mitigate suicide deaths, IHS has identified and will implement a uniform, research-based screening tool. All IHS federal facilities will implement the Ask Suicide Screening Questions (ASQ) suicide screening tool by September 1, 2025.
