February 27 - February 28

Dear Tribal Leader:

The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana invites you to participate in its inaugural Tribal-Business Forum and Reservation Economics Training. The Forum will take place on Thursday, February 27, and the Training will take place on Friday, February 28 at the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana, located in Marksville, Louisiana. The registration and agenda for both events can be found here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tribal-business-forum-reservation-economics-tickets-1217049851869?aff=oddtdtcreator.

The Tribal-Business Forum is designed to create a dialogue between tribal leaders and business leaders. By creating a dialogue, the forum hopes to identify obstacles and opportunities for increased private sector development in Indian country. Moreover, the forums are intended to build the relationships necessary to produce real world action.

Reservation Economics is an interactive training designed to discuss the nexus between tribal legal institutions and economic development. The training will include discussion with Native business owners about their experiences working with tribes. Additionally, the training will feature discussions on developing efficient legal institutions. Sessions will be led by Native business owners, law professors, attorneys, and economists.

Thanks to generous funding from the John Templeton Foundation and the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana, this event is provided free of charge. In appreciation for your participation, we may be able to provide an honorarium up to $500. Travel and lodging support can be provided based upon need. Space for these events limited.
