Tribal Webinar: “Overview of APHIS’ Biotechnology Regulatory Services”

To protect plant health, Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) implements U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) regulations for organisms developed using genetic engineering that may pose a risk to plant health. APHIS coordinates these responsibilities along with the other designated federal agencies as part of the Federal Coordinated Framework for the Regulation of Biotechnology. In this webinar, BRS staff will explain the USDA biotechnology regulations and how they are implemented, including the authorization of field trials and the inspection process.
