Starting in December, the National Indian Health Board (NIHB) will convene a quarterly Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC) meeting series. As the national convener, NIHB will bring together Tribal leaders, maternal health experts, Birthworkers, and community partners to share knowledge, discuss promising practices, and strengthen collaboration across funded initiatives. The series will showcase the work of organizations improving maternal mortality review processes, elevate community-centered approaches, and explore the actions, partnerships, and capacities needed to support the development of a Tribally led MMRC.
