Established as a part of the Inflation Reduction Act, the $150 million BIA Tribal Electrification Program will provide financial and technical assistance to Tribal Nations to increase the number of Tribal homes with zero-emission electricity, with eligible uses for (1) the provision of electricity to unelectrified Tribal homes through zero-emissions energy systems; (2) transitioning electrified Tribal homes to zero-emissions energy systems; and (3) associated home repairs and retrofitting necessary to install the zero-emissions energy systems.

Tribal leaders and staff will have the opportunity to hear from the federal officials overseeing the rollout of the program and ask questions. With a 30-day application period expected following the program’s official rollout, the time is now to get the clarity you need on how this program could benefit your Tribal Nation and citizens, as well as how to apply.
