The Aawok Georgiana Trull Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor the work and life of Aawok Georgiana Trull. Aawok Georgiana spent more than 40 years of her life dedicated to revitalization of the Yurok language, contributing to an alphabet and publishing a conversation dictionary. Scholarships of $2,500 are available to support California Native people actively engaged in Indigenous language revitalization. Students from all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Applicants must express commitment to Indigenous languages to be considered.

The application deadline is Friday, October 29, 2021.

Who is Eligible to Apply:

  • Federally and non-federally recognized California Native students.
  • Students who will be actively enrolled in and attending two or four year universities, graduate school programs, or trade school.
