Public Health Workforce Development Workshop
April 27 – April 30 CDT
Strengthening the public health workforce is essential to improving diabetes outcomes, expanding prevention efforts, and supporting healthier communities. This two-and-a-half-day Public Health Workforce Development Workshop brings together public health leaders, community partners, and workforce specialists to address the most urgent talent challenges facing chronic disease programs today.
Through interactive sessions, hands-on experience, and facilitated planning discussions, participants will build practical strategies to attract, develop, and retain a strong and skilled workforce. This workshop is designed to equip Tribal Nation teams with the tools, insights, and collaborative partnerships needed to build a sustainable talent pipeline and strengthen community-based diabetes prevention efforts. Attendees will engage in data gathering activities, including a facilitated SWOT analysis and regional listening session, to identify current trends, unmet needs, and emerging workforce issues across the state. These insights will inform regional workforce plans and action steps that support both immediate needs and long-term program sustainability.
