The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), will hold a tribal listening session on March 23, 2023, from 2pm to 4pm ET to obtain input on updating the National Tribal Behavioral Health Agenda (TBHA). Click here to view the Dear Tribal Leader Letter.

Why it Matters: The TBHA, released in 2016, was the result of a collaborative effort led by Tribal leaders who spoke compellingly about the extent to which mental and substance use disorders were impacting tribal communities. The TBHA is a critical tool to help advocate for policies and inaitatives to address the many Behavioral Health concerns impacting Indian Country. This is a Tribally led process, so it is critical that all Tribes are represented in the creation of the document.
